Beckham will be well in with the Global Warming con artists and scammers crowd so 2 litre is probably enough.£79,995 for a 2.0l Range Rover Evoque.

The main thing that strikes me is the total hideous look, appallingly dull and predictable that could only come from a under educated mind with low intelligence and zero imagination.
I mean seriously - a big wheeled grey car with exaggerated wings that's a pointless fashion statement for the terminally stupid.

Wonder if it's any good at taking corners?
A lot better than you'd probably think as I discovered by test driving one and then buying one as a result - sport engaged (throttle response) and in Dynamic mode (suspension, steering) it is actually not bad at all around corners, not far off my wife's Mini Cooper S (as fast in a straight line too) and I don't recall my 335i being much better either! Certainly better than a RRS and most SUV's. I'd say the Evoque is pretty much the same in terms of handling and performance as a BMW 325i auto (my wife's previous car). Hardly a performance benchmark but then this is an SUV.
With regards to this Beckham Edition, people need to not exaggerate her involvement: many assumed VB had a great impact upon the standard Evoque but this simply isn't true; LR are associating themselves with her for her branding in foreign markets where she is highly regarded even if many purists here cannot stand her, not just for her own image but her husbands. She was asked to offer ideas with colour schemes and interior material choice after being presented with examples by the LR design team and this is essentially true of this special edition - she isn't involved in anything technical!

How?
The standard Evoque is like a child's big plastic toy.
Beckham has made it even worse with big black wheels but it was already starting from the 'completely st' class of looks.
It won World Design Car Of The Year 2012...its 101st award at the time in an ever increasing list of awards...I concur that it is a great-looking car and congratulate LR on a job well done. The standard Evoque is like a child's big plastic toy.

Everyone goes on about the bmw x6 as being pointless, but why the double standards with a 4x4 that has 2 doors!????

My theory is that its probably down to the fact LR are built in the uk so people decide to ignore major details that would bring the trolls of ph out had any of the superior engineered german brands made anything similar.
Anyway, congrats to tata and india for sorting both LR and jaguar and turning them into competitive brands.
Still and ugly sh*t car though.

What's actually special about it as a special edition to justify the price? Or is it simply a case of them thinking "How much can we get away with here?"
I presume that a top spec Evoque with every option thrown at it could be what; £60k (staggering in itself)? So what accounts for another £20k as as far as I can see it's basically black wheels (seen a few with them already), Matte grey paint (amazing, never seen that before) and tan leather (probably on the options list anyway).

I'm not sure which way to go on this one. As a car, I expect it is very accomplished and a nice place to be, (the interior in a nice spec to me is very appealing).
Originally I really like its looks. Quite a stunning and unusual design.
I think if my misses wanted one, and we were in a position to buy, then I'd go for it. Probably love it and more than happily drive it around. But, as a guy. ... hmmm... don't think I could do it.
