rx7 gearbox - 5th gear gate spring

Does anyone know where the sprung gate in a rx7 turbo II gearbox is?

Sometimes when coming out of 5th the gate stays open when it's supposed to shut. This means that subsequent changes from 2nd to 3rd sometimes end up in 5th rather than 3rd.

I've taken the gear lever off and if I poke it with a screwdriver you can feel the click of the gate shutting but sometimes during normal use this doesn't happen.

I've tried greasing everything I can see and it's helped a little so I guess the sprung gate is in the extension housing somewhere but I can't see it.

So, does anyone know where this sprung gate is and how I can gain access to clean and grease it?
