yesterday i was driving to northampton on the A43,just before you get to silverstone there are 2 speed cameras.
i was travelling at a steady 70 all the way when just before the camera i was overtaken by someone who pulled in front of me,saw the camera at the last minute and slammed on the anchors causing a cloud of smoke.
this caused me to take evasive action and luckily for me there was no-one in the outside lane as i would have piled into the car in front such was his braking effort.i can't believe people don't know something as simple as an NSL limit
if i had crashed into him would it be me being prosecuted even though he clearly didn't even know the limit and his actions were very dangerous?

It's not his not knowing the NSL, it's he's not aware of his current speed hence the sudden braking...

I've noticed at the speed camera in a 50 limit (justifiable location & speed restriction) that we all go through at <40mph as there is always someone who doesn't know it's there and brakes.

People simply don't trust them at all, I personally have never seen it flash and have been overtaken through it (I tend to travel through ~49ish in the Citroen, much less in Marlin) but am always warey of their tolerance personally.

If the limit's there, whether it's "right" or not (in the grand scheme of things), better 5mph under than 5mph over...
