What is this????

I did try a series of 60mph-0mph stops in order to eliminate the brake squeal!
But what is that brown area? The pads are 2 months old and have loads of wear left on them.
Is it rust? Or is that what the next layer of the brake pad looks like?
There wasn't any discernable extra wear on the brown corner of the pad.

Its just rust off the brake discs after being stood. A bit of pad has chipped off and as a result the disc hasnt wiped it clean. But what is that brown area? The pads are 2 months old and have loads of wear left on them.

You might want to replace them. I guess you have scored your discs too?
