Numerical Number Plates
Discussion
Bit of an odd question but Google isn't really helping, or maybe I'm typing my question wrong.
I fancy getting a dateless reg plate and I'm interested in ones that are purely numerical. However, when I search on reg sites, the only options are for current style, prefix and dateless plates, the latter of which just seem to be irish plates.
I've seen purely numerical plates on other car so I know that you can get them. How do you find them though?
Hopefully they're not too expensive.
Thanks.

It's all in making the O look like 0 ...

I like them, DVLA auctions may be a good place to start, or I'd recommend chatting with the chap at Primo registrations (http://www.primoregistrations.co.uk/) who posts on PH and is decent fellow from experience.

You cannot put a purely numerical registration plate on a UK mainland registered vehicle - they just don't exist. The closest you'll get is something like OO11 OOO where the O is the letter O and not the number 0.
Dateless numbers will always have a letter somewhere in them.
You canDateless numbers will always have a letter somewhere in them.

Or is MrReg correct in thinking they are 'O' s? Not zeros.

Chap on this thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... says it is indeed simply an illegally spaced plate OO 7952
