Hi Everybody...My name is Paul, and I've just bought Beario's 390 from him, so I have a fair bit of work to do!

Any advice would be more than welcome!

I previously owned a 290S in the same colour, so I'm only new to Wedges, not TVR's...

Regards,
Paul

It needs an engine! I have one, but it's only a standard 3.9 from a discovery...It also needs the interior re-furbed, plus some tlc all around...Where are you in Wales?

It was essentially the Rover SD1 Vitesse engine, so whatever fits that car will be correct.

Again, SD1. One thing to watch out for is that if your engine originally had an auto gearbox, the bronze bush in the rear end of the crankshaft will need changing for the version that suits the manual 'box. ISTR the auto version has a larger bore which means that the input shaft of a manual box would not be supported - or it's the other way round and the bore of the auto bush was smaller which means the manual box input shaft wouldn't fit in, if you follow...
Also watch out for people flogging random 'lightened' flywheels on Ebay... anybody with a lathe can skim off metal, it's knowing how much and where from that's the critical bit.
Clutch can be the standard SD1 variety which suits most 350i's quite happily unless you like drag-racing. If you want a heavy-duty one then they are available (for a price)... rumour has it that most so-called 'uprated' ones are actually from the V8 Sherpa van!

I don't/ can't, having never bought one biggrin Allegedly the 390SE had such a beast but mine looked like a standard item when I had the engine apart about 11 years back. Mind you the 390SE was claimed to have all sorts, some engines appear to have had the full works and others were a bit less fortunate.
You could ask some of the renowned V8 tuners for a recommendation (they'll probably recommend themselves, of course)...
