Getting a Heart Scan?
Discussion
With all this news of young helathy people having heart attacks etc whilst taking part in sport etc, it's got me thinking.
I am training 5-6 days a week and pushing my heart hard every day. I often get palpatations whilst sitting at my desk at work, or sometimes think it feels a bit funny.
I am thinking about going and getting a heart scan for my peace of mind, but can't find any infomation on Google as to how to go about this?
Does anyone have any idea? I have private healthcare if that helps, but not sure how to go about sorting it?

Ok, thanks guys. I'll book an appointment and asked to get referred!
Is this something that would be possible if i didn't have private healthcare? I think it should be really!
Yes, if you have heart palpitations, you would be seen under the NHS. Perhaps not immediately and perhaps you'd have to push for it. However, you have paid for private health (or been taxed for having it), so you should use it. You should be seen more quickly. Is this something that would be possible if i didn't have private healthcare? I think it should be really!
There are a dozen reasons for palpitations, so it's worth having it investigated. Hopefully it's entirely innocent.
