i know this question must have been asked a million times, but which companies cover you for track days ??

My insurance is up soon and I'd like to renew with a company that can extend the cover for the occasional times that I might be on the track.

I'd heard that liverpool & vic do it, but i've phoned them 3 times over the last week and spoke to three different people who all told me that they used to do it, but no longer.

i see that loads of people are into trackdays now, but who are they insured with ??? Are they insured at all ???

I asked the same question not so long ago in the "rackday and driving experiences" forum.

Got lots of good answers.

I only called LivVic a few weeks ago and they said they did cover trackdays.

Norwich Union do as do Royal Sun Alliance and AON.

I got seperate trackday cover from Competition Car Cover. (or what ever its called!) Anway, its all in the tread I started titled "HELP - Trackday insurance".

Big boys toys - if you bend it, you mend it.

Easy for me to say as I am now covered for track days under a classic policy.

But I have never paid seperately to insure a car on track, if my standard insurance did not cover it, it wasn't covered.

One off track day cover is far too expensive.

I am with Aon and they do cover track days but you must pay a small charge before each event. I pay £29 per track day. Bargain. This is cast iron, I wouldn't trust Liverpool Victoria because you get different answers each time you ring them.

I note that Aon use Royal and SunAlliance any way.

I've went with Bickley (who the Gt3 boys recommended)who cover for trackdays at an extra charge of £105 per event, but this covers for the full value of the car.

I have a se7en for trackdays which I don't bother with Trackday ins...(as it's too expensive for the cover & they tend to put large XS on which makes the cover even less value.... at least if i bend my se7en I can repair it for a few £100's or worst case senario £3000.
HOWEVER after seeing a guy chuck a M3CSL off at Oulton the other week I would definatley look at Track ins. if i was taking £20K+++ of Porka out on track...
