Facet fuel pumps
Discussion
I'm currently upgrading the fuel system on my Tiger Super6, it has a 1.8 Zetec with Weber DCOE 45s and Piper fast road cams. I'm adding a sump onto the fuel tank to stop air being pulled through when the fuel level is less that half and taking long left hand bends, I've also bought a filter king to replace the rubbish inline fuel filter that is currently on it.
The thing that I'm struggling to decide is if it is worth upgrading to a Facet silver top fuel pump over just getting a replacement Solid State one? I can see the silver top has a much higher flow but is it worth paying nearly double over the Solid State pump? Will it make that much difference to a car that goes on a track, at a maximum, two times a year and is driven on the local b-roads the rest of the time?
thanks
Mike

Facet pumps are to high pressure for webberes, if you go that route don't forget a regulator.
I have facet red top running twin 40's on a 1300 cross flow, bit of an overkill the pump was left over from a bigger engined kit I also have and was 'free' so I used it, but not sure I'd spend cash to have it.

Making a sump in the fuel tank is a big job and would most likely be very vunerable to grounding.
Easier to leave your existing tank and pump setup as is and install a surge tank in the engine bay with an additional pump supplying the carbs from the bottom of the surge tank. You will need a return line from the top of the surge tank so that air can be eliminated and returned to the main tank.
