"unable to take phone calls at the moment"?

Obviously the mileage is over 100,000 and probably hasn't had some of the regular maintenance done.

Checked out the website.

The only car currently on there is the A6 http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...

http://www.mellortrading.com/155212/used-cars.htm

Which has a very differently worded ad to the other ones.

A search of google shows that the getcarsuk have used other dealer ads in the past.

I think the actual used car dealer would probably be interested in the ad.

I wish Autotrader would have a 'report' link like the PH classifieds do - unless they do and I've never spotted it?

Autotrader scam in all probability

Stolen rung vehicle with forged or stolen v5

Advertised for a bargain price halfway across the country

Buyer contacts seller who often agrees to meet them at a private address. Seller is either waiting out the front or appears through a side gate and it'll be a nice house in a nice area.

Buyer parts with money for said bargain then weeks or months later discovers that they're not the owner of the vehicle.

If anyone goes back to the address the residents know nothing. They are at work all day or were on holiday etc

I know of people who have been stung by this

I agree. I've emailed them about their dodgy ads, but have never heard back.
I think they just like collecting money from scummy adverts. Same goes for cars listed as £999, that are actually £2000+ in the advert.

there's no excuse (other than medical) for not taking calls - a phone costs less than £20, a worthwhile investment if you're trying to sell a car. If he's physically incapable of taking/making calls he should allude to it (I'm deaf or something) otherwise a complete waste of money placing that ad IMO.

All I've gained from that is what I think the OP postcode is.

Seriously though, just a con, if it's too good to be true, it probably is.. etc!

They do - a coincidence that I only spotted it yesterday for the first time - its at the bottom left of the adverts.
