Yep thats correct 5th June is a Tuesday but its also a Bank Holiday this year curtesy of HM's Jubilee. There will be a 20 minute sprint race on the Monday and a 40 minute 1 or 2 driver race on the Tuesday with compulsory pitstop. We are expecting a good turn out and I will update this thread with runners and riders as they come in.

The event is being hosted by The Aston Martin Owner's Club (AMOC) and looks like being a good event. See you there!

I'm down for Brands, it should be a great event.

A bunch of loud V8s hammering round the Brands Indy circuit on the Jubilee bank holidays - what more could anyone want? smile

I will be racing to.

Changed the car set up a little so it should be a little quicker. Although the extreme cross weight we had in the car may of helped at Brands with only 1 left hander to tackle. smile

You will be the day before Andy so why not sleep over another night in that luxury motorhome and catch the first race on the Monday?

Spoke with Bernie last night and we should have around 30 cars entered for Brands, bring it on! Full entry list to follow as soon as I have it.

I will certainly be looking in the mirrors James thats for sure. I should be a bit more competitive in the IROC-Z but no match for the fast boys. Lets hope everyone remembers what the ethos of the series is about and thats having fun.

Latest entry list as of Saturday the 26th May, the word fantastic can not do this justice, where else in the world will you see 32 cars lining up including no less than 9 Camaro, 5 Aston Martins,7 Mustangs, MGB V8's, Sunbeam Tigers etc etc. So proud to be a part of this! I have tried to upload a bitmap of the entry list but it wont have it so here is the link to it on Facebook.

I think that they should tell people to hold there racing line round there and not try to jump out the way, as there is no straights like Snetterton to move over on.

Well thats how it says to do it the Blue Book but you can momentarily lift in places to make it easier for the lapper or you can make it awkward which invariably ends in tears. I think its just a case of both guys being sensible. The danger as I see it is when a lapper come up against two guys having their own battle and they are oblivious to whats behind them. This is what happened in Classic Thunder a few weels ago when the two mega quick Skylines who were dualling for first came across two Escorts dualling for class honours in Boss Ford, result 4 damaged cars and so easily avoidable.

Always awkward to come upon a race between cars when your racing to, ends in tears 50% of the time for someone, either due to a crash or loosing places due to having to back out.

I'm looking forward to this and hoping for lovely weather. Brands is my local circuit and I shall tootle along as a mere humble spectator in my '59 Impala to show support for cars with 'proper' engines, lol.

Looking forward to seeing the Impala.

James thats why I think we all ought to remember Bernie's take on the events and thats that it should be FUN, winning is secondary in an event like this surely as the difference in the cars is emmense so lets just go out and play safe and enjoy it.

Here's how the 'Le Mans' start will work. Well Bernie now has the sanctions of the various bodies so can go public on this and has asked me to post this. This will happen on the Tuesday for the 40 minute race. Remember its all just for a bit of fun and is meant to be tounge in cheek

1) Cars will arrive at the GP paddock assembly area at 12.25.
2) Cars will line Le Mans style against the pit wall in grid order at 12.45.
3) Spectators will have the opportunity to view our grid and talk to drivers between 12.50 and 1.15.
4) All drivers must be suited and booted ready to run, walk and in some cases, crawl to their cars when ordered to.
5) You must have your crew to help you get in and buckle up When the lovely Sarah shows you the board, start your engines. Start up and wait. You will be flagged off by the Clerk of the Course one by one, and continue around the track "slowly" until you pick up the pace car (our black and white US Cop Cars). Should any body not conform to the procedure, an American policeman will exit the pace car and shoot your tyres out with the repeating rifle kept in the trunk (boot). !!!!
6) When the grid has totally assembled behind the pace car, we will continue to proceed on our one lap rolling start.

To late to take my competitiveness out of me Al biggrin
Someone put it in me over 14 years ago, that's why I enjoy my Stock car racing so much to even though I'm not 100% on it yet. It's no nonsense racing through and through, from the green flag to the chequer.
