Portable Toilet Hire
Discussion
I am pondering the possibility of staging a fund raising Murder Mystery evening in a Marquee that will already be in situ and paid for. The toilets though are a significant hike from the Marquee and probably an even worse standard than portable toilets!
So I was wondering how much itwould cost to hire a portable toilet for a weekend. However whilst googling brings up loads of companies that do them you have to contact them all for a quote. I dont really want to waste their time for that at present!
So anyone got any idea of the approx cost of hiring a portable toilet for the weekend?

Seems like there is a lot of money in s

Tongue in cheek i know but im not sure how they make it pay!
tA chap i know does it and recently supplied one to a mate of mine for a small building site. £22 per week including servicing and free delivery and collection.
My other mate had it 12 weeks.
So, he got paid £264 for the following:
- Transport porta-loo on back of van type pick up approx 35 miles
- Collect loo 10 weeks later - another 35 miles
- Drive 35 miles each way, 12 times
- 12 times - spend approx 30 mins pumping the s
t into the tank on the back of the pickup, bit of a hose down (water from pick up), fill with chemical solution, quick wipe down, leave 3 or 4 big builders arse loo rolls. So,
Fuel: 35 miles x 2 x 13 @ say 50p a mile = £455
Labour: (Assumes 35 miles can be done in 45 mins in an old Iveco pickup)
Driving time = 19.50 hours @ £10/hr = £195.00
Empty time = 12 weeks x 30 mins x £10/hr = £60
Chemical solution - no idea - £5 a week x 12 weeks? = £60
Toilet rolls - 4 a week x 12 weeks at 50p a roll = £24
TOTAL COST = £794.00.
And thats before he's even disposed of any of the waste, legally, which isn't cheap.
Or insured his pickup.
Or took water from a source for the tank.
Or overhead.
Etc etc.
I know he doesn't just drive to one site at a time so perhaps my figures are massively flawed but i know he pretty much quotes £22 a week anywhere in North West so if you've a loo in Lancaster and most of your other work in Manchester, it's soon going to add up.
It's not even as if it's enjoyable work! (surely?)

As mentioned earlier I pay £25/week for a similar unit which includes one site visit/empty per week. Where I get stung is with delivery though, £60 each way, this essentially means the delivery lorry is running around making money rather than losing it.
The s
t collector truck probably has set routes/distances to travel on a dailly basis so has a pretty generic weekly cost which will be covered by the rental charges.Gassing Station | Business | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
