Lets say my car gets nicked off my driveway one night. I have a lot of time and money invested in the thing and theres a good chance that the insurance company wouldn't give me anywhere near what it's worth to me. So I want the thing back! I know the police are busy people and a stolen car may not feature too highly on their agenda . . . so if I were to ring them up and say "I've just been carjacked by three guys with a firearm" or something similar I guess there would be more effort put into catching up with the guys than normal and a better chance of my car being returned. But would I be setting myself up for a major telling-off from the courts for exaggerating the incident?

And before anyone asks, I have just about every electronic countermeasure known to man installed (alarm, immobiliser, and a few other bits ) and a big yellow disklock on the steering wheel.

NO..simply..

Also, you would more than likely see yourself charged with several offences, off the top of my head.: using the telecommunications system to send a false message/signal, wasting police time, and some other hassles.....

Stick to the facts.....

Best of luck

I had my STI pinched in November. Usual thing, nasty people broke into my house whilst family asleep.

When I woke up in the morning, saw the car had gone, I phoned Trackstar.

Withi 1 minute they told me the whereabouts of the car, how long it had been parked there and informed the Police.

I had the car back in my possession by 1.00 pm the same day.

Forget the porkies, Plod get enough of them, just get a Trackstar fitted.

Whether or not you want the car back is another matter....

Wow, never heard of that one. Does that mean that if I tell porkies to someone over the phone or the internet I'm committing a criminal offence?

Monty Python are now rotting in Prison for claiming they were all called Brian, along with their wives (also called Brian)

An unnamed car manufacturer have also been jailed for claiming they made decent motah-cars

Ah dudes the old folk around here are fab at this - they used to phone up and say "There are some kids hanging aroung outside my house"...

NOW they say, "There are some kids hanging around outside my house, WITH A KNIFE!!!"

OR...

"There are some kids hanging around outside my house, TAKING DRUGS!!!"

I love old folk - before we did anything, they did everything
