Had a great day on a Carlimits handling day last Thursday. Learnt a few techniques and pushed the limits of the Cerb. Unfortunately the limits were not quite ehat they should have been. Some of the exercises were impossible to do such as making the car understeer as the back end would just become unstuck far too soon...
Turns out the rear tyres that came on the car are some cheap ditch finders whilst the front is on T1Rs. The instructor was amazed I hadn't crashed in the wet yet! I did wonder why a beaten up old polo could smoke me off the lights in the wet lol. But I had been exceedingly careful in the wet. Moral of that story is don't take someones word for it when they say they put a couple of decent new tyres on the rear recently... Should have checked the tyre reviews - Fullrun HP199, not exactly stella!
Anyway, not crashed it so no harm done, but given the current drought I really should get them changed. Tyres I wanted are not available in 255s but are in 265s. Will they be ok on the 4.5? Even the 255s caught the rim of the arch and I raised the suspension slightly to stop that so I'm guessing an extra 5mm each side is not going to make a difference?

I have always run 225/35 x 18 and 255/35 x 18 on mine, first with Bridgestone S02s then TOYO Proxies.
It is beyond my driving skill to get her to understeer (I'm very glad to say).

They should Understeer if set up well. A good thing that surprised me on the track i thought it would just try and kill me with mega over steer like the Chimaera but it is just a little warning sign to say back off or i will bite, very surprised that it did this even though i was told by a few people but gives you time to sort your self out 
I was running Good year eagle f1's asymmetric 1's on my track night a nice progressive tyre with loads of grip in the wet and dry and i have just fitted the mk2's to my spiders for the road.
