Job application help please?

I'm trying to apply for a job and it is asking me for three references.
First one - Present/most recent employer - am ok with this
Second one - Previous Employer/Academic Referee - again ok

Third one - Academic Referee - who do I put for this?

Are you applying through an agent? If you are, then be very wary indeed of letting them know who you currently work for. In fact, don't be wary, just don't do it, it's too risky.

Do you have an academic referee (former headmaster/college lecturer etc)? Or was your higher education too long ago to make that relevant?
