What are your priorities?
- weight
- thinness
- screen size
- picture quality
- audio quality
- price
- brand

Thin thin and thin

It's in a bedroom and will be side on as you walk in here we don't want it "hanging off" the wall

It's a fair size room so I guess the screen wants to be about 30" maybe a bit more.

I think Samsung do some of the thinnest ones. A quick wander around a home electrical store will be a decent bet if you want to see which is thinnest.

I've got an LG LED 37" that I can only describe as thin! The bracket will take up more width I suspect!

3.5cm deep... http://www.richersounds.com/product/lcd-led-tvs/lg...

We have a thin Samsung 42" LED - it has 4 HDMIs but only 1 SCART (though another composite which can be used).

How are you going to power and connect these to an aerial?

What a lot of people forget when looking at stupidly thin screens is that they still need to plug them into power and plug sockets are not thin!

So we usually end up with having to mount the screen on a deeper bracket to allow the plug to fit or change the plate over to switched fused spur, but then you still have the tv plate and connection to contend with.

Personally, on a retro install, I recommend clients to go with a better spec and more depth than a really thin one and still have to mount it away from the wall to fit the plug!

Mounting on a stud wall above a radiator box in which the power and aerial socket reside. I'll just hole saw behind the TV and fish down for the wires.
When mounted you won't see the hole or wires ;-)

Cool, at least you have thought about it, many don't.

Also check that the TV you buy has the connectors pointing down, not out!

Just working on that at the moment. Most seem to have connectors on the LHS (viewed from the front) This won't work as that's the side you'll see as
you walk in... Downwards or RHS will work a treat :-)

Thanks for your help

I have a 37" LG LED in the spare room. Wonderfully thin but the thinnest and tinniest sound.

It needed a Sound Bar

We have a Samsung 6530 in the lounge. Which has the connections on the rRHS as you look at the front, They also point towards the side not straight out the back. Is also quite thin as well. They even do a 32" version. Which is only 3cm thick.

The samsung d8000 series are IMO the best TV's on the market today. Pricey, but absolutely stunning.

Samsung seem to leading the war against bezels and I for one am a supporter!

Looks brilliant! I love the look of the glossy panel screens, especially on the wall, but don't know if it would be intrusive when actually watching TV. I have a Panasonic VT plasma which isn't glossy at all.

To be honest we only ever watch it with the curtains shut and I haven't noticed any problem. "Smart" bit is very clever, although
as usual let down by our 2.5meg internet...
