Great photos! Will have to have a look when i have more time. Are any of the people in the photos working at current TVR service/repair places? One photo in particular could be quite amusing to take in!

What's in that picture looks way too sexy to be the Melling "Griffon"

Hmmn, interesting.

I do love that glowing exhaust pic !! Showed it to a guy at work who said "what's the point of that, you'd never see it under the bonnet". Ahhhhhhhh, just doesn't understand !! Shouldn't have expected much more from someone who drives a diesel civic though really !!

I'm sure that's a variation of Al Melling's Wildcat but before it got its 'cobra-esque' backend, or maybe it's had some mods since.

This is very interesting... When I was a nipper, my Dad worked for a specialist sports car builder that operated from a couple of lock-ups in Streatham, South London. The cars were called 'Markham Peaseys' after the two guys that owned the company (not sure I've spelt the Peasey bit right). The cars were IIRC based on Ford running gear (Prefect/Popular at the time) with low two seater fibre glass bodies. Again, if memory serves the Markham part was Roy Markham, and if he was the same age as my Dad he'd be in his eighties now...

Be very keen to hear if anyone knows if the old and the new might be connected, or remembers the old Markham Peasey cars....

Thanks Peter, that's brilliant, and really brought back some memories biggrin I also remember the Aquaplane kit.. My Dad was a fibreglass specialist back in the day and I remember watching him working on the MP body shells on Saturday mornings.. Early exposure to specialist car building is probably why I grew up to be a petrohead smile My Dads work clothes were always full of fibreglass dust, and I can remember going to school scratching myself like buggery because my Mum had accidently washed his work clothes with my school kit... It's also probably why the fibreglass smell that occasionly emanates from the Chim takes me back to my childhood biggrin

I agree, way too sexy compared to the Melling "thing".

The wheels look like something off a wedge, the bonnet scoop has S written all over it, the nose is Griff and the back end, what can be seen, looks pretty good, very E Type. Perhaps what a Griff would look like without the pram hood?

Anyone translate Dutch?

http://www.autoblog.nl/archive/2008/05/04/markham-...

or French?

http://www.caradisiac.com/Markham-450-croisement-d...

"Mais Al Mellin avait également pour projet de ressusciter la TVR Griffith, modèle phare de TVR dans les années 90." That would be something about Al Melling resurrecting the TVR Griffth for the 90's?
