Car with great mid range grunt?

Hey guys, just wondering, which hatchbacks/small saloons have really good acceleration from 30-60/40-70 ect. Not looking for your Audi RS3's or 1M's need to be sort of affordable. Thanks in advance

Be careful that you are looking at the "acceleration through the gears" figures, not the "acceleration in the wrong gear" one - well, unless you can't use a gearbox, anyway.

As otolith states. Also it may say 50-75 in 4th, remember 4th gear is some cars may be taller than others. 4th in mine goes to a theoretical 140mph, yet my mates 1.2 ibiza it only goes to about 85,which is between my 2nd and 3rd....

As mentioned above, Fabia vRS, very useable mid range acceleration and £5k would get you a nice one.

Do you mean in the right gear(s) or in the wrong gear? Because they give you very different answers.
