My beloved Cerb has been off the road for a while having head gaskets and loads other work done on her at APM who done the best work on her since I have had her 12.5 years now, She was looking at little tired so I thought lets go the whole hog and get her resprayed so in she goes and I picked up yesterday afternoon and she looked fantastic yes driving home down the M2 with the silly biggrin on my face and the traffic was pretty heavy so only going about 50mph then my turn off came so pulled into the slow lane and looked in mirror and this little white renault followed me thought its a bit close carried on and the junction came up and there was a line of traffic so I put my foot on the brake to avoid hitting car in front as you do in traffic when I heard a car skidding and I looked in the mirror when bang the little white renault hit me up the rear I thought no this can,t happening cry got out of the Cerb and looked in the car and there was this lady with sunglasses on and a white shirt with black epilets I thought oh no a police woman eek this can,t get much worse, she gets out the car and in fact she was a prison officer and she was apologetic that I felt sorry for her looked at the damage which was only minor scuffs and a couple of digs and scratches she said I,am so sorry I said I have just picked it up from the bodyshop. So now she is going back again for a rear end spray, I might even get the chance to keep her in the garage for more than a couple of weeks

On the upside, even with the damage, your bumper is still in better condition than mine wink

I think I would be inclined to go through the insurance, she may have agreed to pay cash now but has she had a price yet?

Had a lady reverse into mine and left me with a little dint and some bonnet damage....she was so sorry and by the time I was back home she had sorted out the insurance. A perfect outcome for what could have been a pain to sort out. Call your insurance...she may pay up but at least if she does not its registered.

Perhaps, but don't forget it loads your insurance as well as hers for the next 5 years. If she agrees cash than it's best to keep the insurance sharks out of it.

That's all very well, but saying "yeah no probs I'll cover it" is one thing coughing up is different.
What if she's expecting to pay a couple of hundred quid and the final bill is £1500?

Yes I agree and I have sent photos off to the bodyshop who resprayed the Cerb and waiting for them to get back, doubt if will cost £1500 because I paid a lot less than that for the respray biggrin
