Re-using filter in auto gearbox
Discussion
I'm replacing the transmission fluid in the auto 'box as per the requirement to do it every 30k. It's a Ford Mustang and a chap I spoke to said the filter, if it looks ok, can be cleaned and re-used, it would save me about £60. Is this standard procedure or is it best to bite the bullet and buy one ?

If it's a visible screen filter then yes,you can clean it. I would imagine that it is in fact a dacron style filter which means it's bin fodder, and the "screen" part wouldn't be visible anyway..Gassing Station | Engines & Drivetrain | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
