Started mine at 1400hrs

Beef, onion, carrots, potatoes, red wine, garlic so far.

Also had to make room in the freezer so the Ribs need cooking, even I won't use the smoker in this weather so I'll try them in the oven for the first time.

Fook me that's some cooker you've got there! bow

PS. Don't leave the spoon in unless you want the finished dish to taste of spoon. wink

Thanks, it needs servicing, not looking forward to the bill.

Spuds and carrots in.

Turned out really good, our friends were impressed, trouble is we over ate and were pretty stuffed for the rest of the evening.

Ribs were great too, not quite as good as the smoker

Looks good!

I suppose you can also say "This is a traditional South African dish" rather than "I CBA cooking so bunged everything together in a pot" wink

Looks epic, bung everything in a pot works well!

I think most parts of the world have a BEIAP of some sort.

Yep it is a bit, chuck it all in and see what comes out. The only difference is that with a Potjie, once the meat is browned, you do not sir it ever. And you cook it for 4-6 hours on a very low heat.

I love cooking with a potjie, my favourite is to make a Durban curry with mutton on the bone. Even better when cooked in the bush over a wood fire.

It's a New Home 8 burner(2 more under the hotplate), 3 ovens 1 with grill, great bit of kit. The main oven has a thermostat prob in that it is always on at a very low temp, I use it to warm plates but need to gt it fixed soon.

The meal was terrific, I have just finished off the leftovers as a thick soup....yum.

The Potjie and my Webber are my favorite methods of cooking.
