Chaps,

Is it a fairly normal occurence for dealers to take days/weeks to remove sold cars from Autotrader?

I am currently looking at a Ford Focus RS and I carry out searches for any new entries almost daily at the moment. I see something that might be suitable, call up, sorry sir thats sold, I do a search a week later and its still there.

There are currently 5 Focus RS's within 120 miles of my house that I have enquired about and have been told they are sold. Bloody remove them from Autotrader then you tt to avoid wasting my time!

I was recently looking for a Skoda Octavia for my parents, twice I went to dealers to look at a car that was on the Skoda approved used car website, and it had been sold. They were both still on the Skoda website a week later (and probably longer, I just stopped checking after a week).

Autotrader had a problem with dealer sites recently which meant that deleted cars were staying on even though the dealer had removed them on the online dealer portal. We had a few stuck on our sites too. Or it may just be a lazy dealer!

Autotrader run packages so you have eg up to 5, 10, 20 cars listed at any one time, better off leaving an add running even if its sold in case you get similar stock in than having less than your allocated ads featured.

Or they may just be lazy but its unlikely (they tend to work 7 days a week)
