Heart stopped!!!

Filling at petrol station today,smoke started pouring out of bonnet!!

Thought st!!!

Lifted bonnet to find a paper towel I had used on the engine previous, smoulding away on the manifolds!!!

A cursory scan round the engine bay is a must after you've been working on it.

Anything I've been working on which might not be put together again immediately gets a piece of yellow insulating tape tagged on it so I can see at an instant there is something I've forgotten.

Also, DON'T be tempted to put your oil cap on there while you fill with oil. If you forget it you'll either lose it or melt it.
Someone on here has done that twice now (I won't mention it was FFG)
