Horrible aren't they? frown

Went to Westfield in Stratford today as it was raining and thought about some holiday clothes, but it was just rammed full of people. I think we lasted about 10 minutes in there before it just became too much with people barging, dawdling and getting in the way.

All that way and didn't even go in a shop, and the burger I had was st too.

Do people enjoy this experience? confused

Never again. Ghastly.

Mods, please could you move this to the Lounge, thought that's where I was. redface

queue the cool starry bra pic.

I feel for you mate, I've been to Westfield a fair few times, you can barely move in that place!

I've not been to a shopping centre around the Christmas period, the missus and her sisters usually do all that lot, but I've been to Bluewater of a Summer's Saturday afternoon .... Never again.

The other Westfield (White City) is much better laid out so doesn't seem to get anywhere near as crowded as the Stratford one. Better shops too smile

Only ever went there once when it first opened, and couldn't believe how many shops were there, not been back since.

We both said, we'll stick to Cambridge for shopping days out, which is OK but the cost of parking is horrendous.

Been doing some work at Westfield. Horrific place and a bomb scare every couple of days in the Holiday Inn! Security in there is something else for a hotel.

I want to make a suit with 6" long steel spikes sticking out all over, just to wear in shopping centres as it appears that most people in them cannot walk in a staight line or avoid bumping in to you, I can usually remain calm in most situations but shopping centres make me want to hurt people after about 2 minutes!!!

Fair enough. I tend to avoid the large shopping centres now. As I live in & around Redbridge, I just stick to the local Ilford Exchange.

ffs!

Nice to see shops are busy, keeping staff and manufacturers in business in a recession.

Rather this, than a street full of boarded up shops with tumbleweed blowing down the deserted streets....

The obvious answer is shop at the quieter times.....

I went Meadowhall yesterday. It was quite busy, but you could still move around. I got what I needed and left. I even got a free FHM magazine at Superdry. Result! biggrin

Worst bit was driving in/around Meadowhall. It took 45 minutes to get out of Meadowhall. We then found out that Sheffield Arena had JLS so that caused the traffic. Good job I had a certain magazine to keep me busy. hehe

Meadow Hall near Sheffield is a nightmare , I used to be OK when it first opened years ago. However It now has a Tram stop and bus and rail links so all the chaves pour in and fat bhes with push chairs and snotty kids in tow.

Rather than a pleasant shopping experience it now resembles a social experiment that has gone wrong !
