The pin that holds the pads in has rounded off whilst in the calliper on my bike.
This wouldn't usually be too much of an urgent issue but I've only found at at a time my pads need changing.
My plan is to try and cut through the pin in the middle so half falls out and I can use pliers to grip the remaining part and un-thread it.
My question though - can someone check to see whether the pin is threaded in the calliper on the side nearest the bike, side furthers from the bike or maybe even threaded into both sides of the calliper (hopefully makes sense - can post a picture showing what I mean if no one understands though). I'm hoping it is the second option as that should make it a little easier to rectify.
And another question - anyone who has replaced the pads, do you get a new threaded pin or will I need to source one elsewhere? I'm assuming you probably don't but I can always hope!

Before you go cutting the bolt (if you've not already) try undoing the bolt with a suitably sized torx bit. These can sometimes grip rounded allen head bolts.
Also try pouring boiling water over the caliper before hand. The sudden shock of the temperature change can break any sieze that might have developed. Boiling water will make the whole assembly pretty hot without damaging any paintwork.
