X308 XJR Headlight Help

Hi Guys

I picked up an X308 XJR on Friday, and it is such a good car!

However, there is one niggle with the headlights and I was wondering if anyone here had experienced it. I have searched here and the web and I can't find anything.

There are 2 problems with the lights:

- When the auto lights are on, the lights come on fine. However, when you turn on the indicators the lights go out. Strange.

- Also, when dipped beam is on both the outer and inner headlights come on, the inner being less bright. I thought only the outer headlights that came on on dipped beam.

hello and welcome to XJR v8 ownership,

not sure of the indicator scenario but on the haelamp fromt im almost sure that the inners are just sidelights, though i think they will illuminate full beam just on the 'flash'! Permanent full beam goes to the outside along with the headlights!

On my x300 xjr the dipped beam turned off the inner sidelights which I much prefer to my current x308 xjr. I must confess that the only reason I preferred the x300 arrangement was that I felt it gave a more sinister silhouette in the rear view mirror!!
