Which air vents? Water leak....

Hi all

Imagine mine are simple questions, but if I buy two of these will they simply fit straight in if I pull the old ones out?

Seem to have a very small water leak from the rear turbo, result of rear manifold being changed. Until I get this sorted, it only happens when car is hot / pressurized and is NOT a big leak at all, what do I need to top the water header tank (plastic onup whine passenger bulkhead) up with? So far I have only put Evian in.....does it need coolant too?

No, the job is relatively simple (famous last words) but they are not a straight swap. I bought some just before Xmas and have been putting the job off for just this reason. The Audi vents will go in but you need to make the hole bigger for it to fit. I have already made a template so I have the correct size. This is going to be a real messy job as, other than trying to find an easy way to cut the hole in one go, the only other way I can see to do it is to dremel the whole bigger - loads and loads of fibreglass dust! Also the back of the Audi vents are square and need to fit the round Noble hoses so duct tape or similar will be needed to make the connection.

I'm intending to tackle this when the weather gets a bit better so I can do it outside and not fill the garage with cr@p!.

It is a simple job I did this when bought the car and had it done within 30 mins. If you wanna hand doing it pop over at some point

Sounds like a dull job....square peg, round hole. keen to make it work though.

Jimbo, sounds like a plan if you're already experienced! Is your car working finally?
A convoy to the pub sounds like a plan after vent fitting when the weather improves. Not around for next 2 weekends at least though.

On the coolant leak.. While your there you should replace the turbo coolant hoses. They are prone to going brittle...Replaced mine with some high temp silicone piping, gimme a shout if you want some!

Sounds like a good idea Jules, but with a couple
Of other little tweaks to do, I may need to go back to Jetstream so will see if I can get up there next month.
How much are the hoses? Cheers. L

Hey Simon - afraid i am in Spain this weekend for a mate's wedding! So almost guaranteed some nice weather.

Thanks Jules, i might look into getting some and then get myself booked into Jetstream asap and then can fit them, plus fix the leak which only started after they replaced the rear manifold.
Need them to change the fuel pump + loom too so i can go to Trevor at some point for a map.
