Instant spray puncture fix cans...

Got a v slow puncture on the tread of one of my cars - it's a dirty cheap old work horse. I'm going to put one of the sprays to it, but wanted to check that this wont cause problems etc when I change the tyre in time with the residue it leaves?

Shouldnt do residue is normally stuck to the inside of the tyre not the rim.

Might be worth looking at getting puncture repair done, I would only use the fix as emergency solution.

These things are emergency fixes only, partly because they are blown with flammable gases(!)

Get the tyre fixed properly. Your life and others depends on it.

Get it fixed properly. Spray can will cost £ and is only temporary. Many tyre fitters refuse to fix tyres once a spray can is used.

Even my local main dealer only charges £10 to do a puncture repair.

I'm taking it for new tyres to Micheldever in 2 weeks, so don't want to pay for a repair for a tyre at tthe end of it's life. The Spray cans don't sound great from your replies so I'll chuck the Spacesaver on until then

Use tyre foam and don't worry about it. I had a slow puncture in a car and used a can of foam. I then forgot all about it for a good few months before getting new tyres fitted. It was perfectly fine.

Some people have been ticketed for that as not "emergenency" use.

Spray puncture fixes are fine.

I've used tham a few times without issue and in excess of the speeds/distances recommended.

You'll be fine for two weeks of motoring until you get new tyres, although a tyre fitter did once try to tell me it was carcinogenic!

Make sure you LET THE AIR OUT OF THE TYRE BEFORE YOU USE IT.
