Possible shock and spring problem.

Hi Guys, a few years ago I bought an unfinished GTR project and have been slowly carrying on, however I think I may have encountered a slight problem.

The springs and shocks that I have appear way to long, the rear springs are 650Lb and 9" long, with the fully open shock being 14" long. The fronts are 450Lb and 7" long with the shock being 12" long fully open.
To get anywhere near the correct ride hide I have about 1.5" of shock too much!

Has any builder got a set of shocks and springs handy for a quick measure up?

Sounds like a set of helper springs could be the "cost effective" way out of that.

Give the Factory a call. They are always happy to help (in my experience) and they will have a lot of info on what has been supplied for your chassis number.

There are many long time builders out there. Often they have purchased part built cars and don't feel that they can ask the factory the questions most of us have.

This forum has a lot of experience but most of us have only built one car. The Factory have built many each year so if you are building to Factory spec then give them a call.

If you are doing something different then there are other routes for info if you need them.

I will check my spring length tomorrow.
