Both doors are similar. The wing mirror buttons work but now you have to physically open the doors whereas they used to pop open. Is it just that the locks need lubricating, and if so whats the best thing to lubricate with? I have tried a bit of WD40 but that hasnt helped. Is grease more appropriate than oil?

Thanks

You have to remember that WD40 is not really a long-term lubricant, it's primarily a water displacer hence the WD.

So I would suggest 3 in 1 type oil, grease may be a bit thick to penetrate the joints (ooher missis).

Also check your light switches at the bottom of the both doors, these are sprung and assist the door to "pop" open.

A light silicone spray on the rubber door seals might not go a miss either, again these assist the "pop" effect.

Mine stick on occasions, normally one of above cures the problem.

Hope this helps.

The doors may have dropped slightly too. The top hinge bolts (accessable thru the speaker holes) have a habbit of working loose allowing a little extra movement in the door causing it to drag on the locking mech.

These bolts are a bugger to get at and you need a rachet spanner, 17mm IIRC, to nip them up.

My drivers door seems to stick in the hot weather, it drags slightly on the rubber plug at the top end of the door.
Silicon spray solves this.

Mine need a bit of assistance but hey it hasn't leaked once in 2 years I would prefer the the assistance method than smelly carpets. PS only my opinion!!!
