Given the content of this thread :

should I be looking to buy a couple of spare sets while they're still available?
If they do become 'non road legal' will I be forced to remove them??

I'm thinking that the only way anyone could check would be at an MOT.. Other considerations might be that tyre centres refuse to fit them and if I have an accident (god forbid) that insurance might not pay out..

thoughts?

How often do you tend to get through a set? I wouldn't personally want tyres sat round for very long, rubber does not have a particularly long shelf life!

Are P Zero Corsa's defiinately on the hit list to be banned? The article did not mention them specifically......

I'm on about 2.8mm on one of the rears so expect to need a new set this year.... I'm guessing (only had car 2 months) that I'd get through a set of rears in 12 - 18 months, but not really sure until I've a better idea of wear rates.. ???

I've also contacted a Pirelli Performance Centre in Cambridge today to ask them what the production plan is for the Corsa. Expecting a call back later today.. I'll update when I know more..

Was there any feedback from Pirelli on this topic?

I spoke directly to Pirelli last week and they advised that they were not prepared to advise on the future availability of any tyre at this stage. So it seems to be a case of wait and see for now. Interested to see if AM tell you anything as I was advised that they do not know at this stage as they were waiting for additional details.

One thing is for certain, Corsas will continue to be manufactured regardless of EU rules since there is no move afoot in the USA to ban R-compound tyres.
