My photo driving licence is up for renewal in August


the fee. TWENTY quid.

If this is for the 'administration' why is the current fee for renewing my Personal Liquor Licence ten quid for pretty much the exact same thing?

Oh, Passport's up for renewal as well soon, anothe god knows how much for absolutely f**k all.

Once again, the law abiding, tax paying British citizen gets shafted to stay legal while the scum of the country get it all paid for them, by us.

It's not quite at boiling point but seeing as I'm not entirely sure of the boilng point of piss it must be pretty close.

Passport is what £80, 10 years.... £8 a year electronic chip inside aswell
Driving licence is £20, 10 years..... £2 a year

the point is, for the EXACT same service/checks/product etc etc for my Liquor Licence is HALF the cost.


Of course everything costs thesedays but it's now about making a COMPULSORY item cost more than it really needs to.

The other issue is that there are many 'non uk' residents that don't even bother to follow procedures and will, in terms of driving, drive around illegally on foreign licences long after the 12 month allowance.

another point is, if I cecall it was 6 quid to change from paper licence to photo ( I was also moving house at the time so it made sense to do it at the same time)

so it's gone up 14 quid in ten years

You should get at least 50% off the passport. As you only need one to get out of the country as they don,t seem to be needed for getting into Britain.

What IS an abomination is paying my ex-insurer £45 last year "Admin Fees" to change address (3x£15), £15 to change a registration and £15 to change car.

So that's £75 for 5 small changes, a bit of tapping on an overseas low-wage keyboard. Grrrr.

What difference does it make if it's 16p or £16 a month the point is where does it say I have a subscription to be entitled to drive.

I know the monkeys in Swansea are public servants and (probably) get a nice hefty pay packet at the end of the month but £20 to change a photo takes the mick.

Mate, twenty quid is nothing for a renewal.

I urgently needed my passport renewed due to getting a VISA, so I booked an appointment for today at peterborough.

I woke up late so I spent a lot of money on petrol trying to get there in record time, and will obviously need new brake discs due to the rate of slowing down upon seeing the steely eyed glint of a scamera van in the far distance. *don't take that paragraph seriously

But still, I paid 130 quid for the passport. Plus I had to wait around for FOUR hours, which meant I spent an aditional 20 pounds on coffee and a rather fetching airfix model of a p-47 thunderbolt, which I assembled in the park. It is now looking at me proudly on the computer table.

Either way, stop moaning.
