Half cover for road trip
Discussion
We are taking our Tamora down to the south of France / Alps / Italian lakes from the middle of May, which will be our first trip out of the country in it.
It is normally tucked-up in the garage, but will spend 3 weeks parked outdoors.
If there are periods of very inclement weather, or if I have no choice but to park under trees, is it worth taking a half cover to protect the roof? I don't want birds to leave anything on the roof since it isn't wipe-clean like the bodywork.
A full cover would not be a good idea as the car won't be clean and it could scratch the paint.
There are some options. Leven sell the expensive and nicer looking option, but for £160 + delivery.
Leven cover link, but you may need to navigate to the cover
An online retailer sells a less TVR specific cover for £42. This has straps to the wheel arches, so I would have to be careful with their fitting, but they shouldn't move too much.

Opinions and advice very welcome. For my very occasional use, I am tempted by the cheaper option.

I used to have a Hamilton Classic Convertible Top Cover (for my TVR S2). Very useful as it packed small, but was waterproof and soft on the paintwork. I think it was around £30 (about 7 years ago).
