Apparently:

A church billboard proclaiming that "Jesus Heals Cancer" has breached advertising standards by suggesting the church can offer something other churches cannot, the [New Zealand] Advertising Standards Authority has ruled.
Full Link.

So is the offer of eternal life through Christianity a reasonable assertion or false advertising? hehe I can see this spiralling out of control for some religions if they are held to account for their wild assertions.

It just made me happy is all

Well if Jesus can do all those magic tricks, coming back from the dead, changing Coke to Pepsi etc. Then I guess if he and his Dad really, really concentrate anythings possible.

But according to the same religion, his dad must have caused it in the first place, right?

"I am the way, the truth and the life etc etc".

Really?

So what happened to all the people in the "afterlife" who died in the world before Jesus was born.

Just saying.

To paraphrase Doug Stanhope, "If you truly believe death leads to eternal bliss, why are you wearing a seatbelt?". Without wishing to seem insensitive, if you genuinely believed in an afterlife, why would you actively want to be "cured" anyway?

On a lighter note, it's a bit like all these evangelical church minibuses you see about the place. We have a local one called something like "Chapel of Glorious Worship and the Victory of Christ", which is emblazened down the side of a Vauxhall Zafira. I've always wanted to ask them if they have fully comprehensive insurance? If everything is the will of God, then that must include your car being written off, therefore to have insurance against such an event is to deny the will of God...
