Replacing standard mk2.5 stereo with aftermarker single din

The stereo will be mounted in a cage which will come with the stereo. The cage will be mounted in the top half of the gap left by the old stereo and the cubby will sit in the bottom half. The cage will sit on the cubby. The stereo should have a bolt with a rubber cap sticking out the back of it which will locate into a hole in the back of the stereo aperture which will take the rest of the weight of it.

Don't bother with the bar bracket on mx5 parts. And FYI I mounted my HU on bottom, cubby on top. HU was more stable in this position, and the ridge on the cubby on the bottom, so stuff doesn't slide out.
Disconnect battery neg terminal before poking around with stereo clips trying to remove the stock HU, I didn't and managed to blow the "room" fuse...bit of a pain.
