Most famous griff ever( M519RCW )

Well a good question is there a more famous griff out there or has this car surely got the crown .I dont know of any other griff in a world class car video If you look at the front of the handbook a picture of this car apears well if you got a handbook made after 95 .So what im getting at how much is fame worth there are not many owners who can show there mates Mr Clarkson talking about there car.So does all this put the value up or just make it more easy to sell maybe I should lend it to Becham it seemed to work wonders for his cerbra Cheers Jason

If you'd have advertised this 12 months ago I'd have bought it. I saw the car at the 1997 50th Anniversary at Brands Hatch and loved the colour.
As luck would have it one came up for sale this time last year and we bought it. Not your's but it was as good as we could have hoped for.
There are only 5 I believe in this colour - yours, ours, an S reg (sold around 9 months ago by Newton Motors, an R reg (sold by David Gerald about a month later) and a Chimaera. Many people have commented on how nice the colour is, particularly in the sunlight.
If I had the money I would have it but 2 the same colour would be a tad odd. I now want the ocean haze car. Claire - any chance of putting in a word?

The car featured on most, if not all, of the 95 onwards TVR Postcards and posters. I've got one poster with a gold Chim, a Puprle Cerb and this car. It is also the car that is shown at the start of the Top Gear 1997 Special celebrating the 50th Anniversary of TVR. It was cruising along the prom to the backing music of the Verve - Bitter Sweet Symphony!!!!

As interesting as it may be to some for the car pictured in the brochure to be up for sale I think this thread boarders on adverting and there is a section for that elsewhere. Rich...
p.s. If it's the one I sat in it at a "back home" years ago, I liked the black leather with yellow stitching but the thought white pearlescent paint didn't suit the Griff.

R... I disagree RichB. I think it looks stunning and so much differnet to the crowd. But then I guess each to his own.
Personally I prefer light to dark and would never have a light interior, but if we all had the same taste there would be one car and each would be identical.
With the vast colour choice there is something for everyones taste - that makes TVR fairly unique.

I have a couple of the Griff postcards (amongst other TVR cards) and neither of them are this one! Also the only Top Gear griff I have seen is the Haze Green one (which I have on video).
Please dont read me wrong. Im not trying to doubt the fact Im just saying that since its supposedly the most famous Griff ever, its the first time this Griff enthusiast has heard of it.
Perhpas if it had been black (or cosmos blue!) I would have noticed!

My Dad ran this as the press car for many years, it had many many upgrades and one-offs.
It was used in several vids (many of them available on the internet) and the most well known pic is of it sat outside Mr.Bees on the prom.
I would LOVE to get my hands on it but I just don't have the cash - unless Jason is willing to do a swap for a GV2000 with a s/s exhaust.

It looks soooooo much nicer in the flesh so to speak.
I remember one year when my parents went on holiday and I was cabbaging on the sofa (hangover) and the FOS came on TV.
I had a heart attack as on TV was Dads car doing donuts. I jumped up and raced to the front window as I thought it had been knicked, (to be honest I don't know what I was thinking).
It was still there, in my drunken stupor I hadn't realised it was prerecorded. I thought it was live.
I needed a drink after that.

Not meaning to change the post direction or ask again but do you have the pic at Mr Bee's. Could you scan it or take a digi picture.
I have spoken to Roger Shackleton and he has a picture outside Mr Bee's but it's a Speed 6!!!!!!!
