Need Help To Sell Myself

The supermarket where I work are getting a pharmacy, and I'm intrested in working in it. The Personel Manager has recently put a sign up, asking for staff who are intrested working in the pharmacy. For staff that are intrested, we have to let the Personel Manager know in writing.
That is the bit that I need help with, as I've never had to do that before. I'm just not sure what to say, so can you guys help me plaese?

First things first, you'll need to say why you want to work in the pharmacy. Has it always been a passion of yours?
Importantly, look into the qualifications you'll look to gain in the future, to become a Dispensing Technician for example. Make sure they know you're serious about building a career in that sector, and that you know what training will need to be undertaken to progress.

If this is a genuine career choice as opposed to an opportunity, you will of course come across as more credible. There's nothing wrong with opportunity, just don't package your bid as anything other as you may be found out at interview.

It's not a career that I want to remain in for long at all. I do have a small intrest in medicene though. What the skills the Personel Manager is looking for is personal integrity, be able to talk well with customers, teamwork, driving licence (not compulsory) and being able to think on your feet.
At the moment I work outside and have done since may 2005, and I'm bored of it and I want a new challenge.
What I was thinking of putting in writing was: Currently have a provisonal licence though hope to have a full licence by end of november, I always try be as helpful to customers as I can be, I work well within a team and my personal integrity is high. As for the interview, if I get it it I'm planinng by going ear.

He's applying to work in a Pharmacy, not to become a salesman with naff buzz words. Sell yourself, but don't make yourself out to be a plonker.paulrussell said:

Start with whatever you think is most important to them. Replace weak words like "I try..." with "I am always courteous and helpful..." If you're not technically qualified for the position on paper then say things like you're "keen to expand your skill-set" which is why you're interested in this role. (and note the spelling of 'interested' there ;-)
