Handing in my notice

I work for a small company and am about to hand in my notice. Me and my boss don't see eye to eye, other than for gross misconduct has he got any grounds to go thank you goodbye without paying me my notice period of two weeks?

I have only been at the company for 7 months.

Check what your contract says.

Most likely will say something along the lines of needing to work 2 weeks notice unless the company decides you are not needed.

I know most of mine have.

There should be no reason why you shouldn't get paid for your notice period, though the company may not ask you to work it. The length of notice should be stated in your contract, if you don't have a contract then it's likely to mirror how regularly you are paid.

Hopefully he will pay me in full, my contract states 2 weeks notice in the first year of service

Not my business, but I have seen a few who have left roles in haste and regretted it, particularly if they have nothing lined up to replace it. Remember, humans get everywhere so you can't avoid them. Have you considered other options around compromise?
