apprentship redundacy
Discussion
Does not make sense. If she received "a phone call for latenes" then that is a disciplinary matter. It is not a contract termination due to redundancy. The two are completely different. Do you have the full story, and what has she been given in writing?
I would ignore anything said until you see what formal line the company is pushing, and supported by their written documentation.

From what I can work out,her boss had a word monday about poor workmanship and her not getting to the pick up point for the allotted time 715 am, she has to catch a bus to the pick up point so is sometimes between 2 and 8 minutes late as the journey takes 35 mins across town,
But she says was redundacy he said.

why doesn't she get an earlier bus then? to be fair if as you state she has had a flippant disregard for her employment then perhaps you're better off letting her use this as a learning experience. if you can't be arsed to get to work on time when redundancies come, don't expect the gaffer to wnat to protect your position....edc said:
"Lateness", absence, punctuality can from part of a selection criteria though.
Yes but I still feel we didn't get the full picture.Apprentices are both cheap and the future of a business so normally aren't made redundant.
It is however irrelevant as she had only worked there since November.
