My wife has just been diagnosed with this. (Almost) completely out of the blue, she is in serious pain, not to say agony in her right foot; can't put any weight on it, and at the moment can't walk at all. The doctor's suggested decent shoes for starters and possibly heel and/or arch supports. Has anybody had any experience that they can share? What's worked, what's worth trying? Thanks in anticipation.

I was never officially diagnosed but I am 99.9% certain I was suffering this couple yrs back.

Worked in a standing job for yrs no major issues with feet except general aching until I bought a particular pair of shoes. Within couple months I was getting severe pains in both feet mainly at the end of the day after I'd sat down for a few mins. It got to the point where I'd dread standing up and would be hobbling around the house.

I looked up my symptoms and they matched this condition. A lot of people suggested crocs. I was sceptical that it could be that easy but being desperate I bought some. It was no overnight cure but after a month or so the pain was much more bearable.

I won't wear any other shoe for work now. I even felt the pain coming back after having too wear trainers for one day at work (can't remember why I was wearing them!)

I can't promise that the answer is as simple as a pair of Crocs (don't buy boy similar shoe type they are not the same) but it's got to be worth a try.
