60's and 70's Italian stuff

Current fleet is:

Honda S2000 - daily
TVR Chimaera 4.0 - weekends (Shared with the old man)
BMW 330D (It is actually remapped!)

I've had a few of the more obvious classics, the only remotely sporty one being a '72 MGB GT in fast road tune...

Being realistic, I could probably muster £10k fairly easily for a weekend car that could be all mine. Muhahaha

I'm in love with the Lamborghini 400GT and absolutely adore Maserati's... big lumpy GT cars float my boat

It doesn't matter to me if it's a project - Through my business contacts, I have a team that can tackle pretty much anything (Media Blasting / Dipping, Body repairs, Paint, Engine rebuilds, Electrics, Trimming etc.)

I've done this thread before, but I need advice on sourcing, and perhaps importing something. I'm just not turned on enough by most Triumphs and MG's. The only other alternatives for me would be an Aston or at a push, a Jensen Interceptor. The downside with the Interceptor is that they are largely automatic, and that just doesn't feel special enough to drive.

Should I just be speaking to the Classic Car trade to see if they can help source something, or should I be doing the work myself?

I do appreciate Alfa's, but I'm after something big and sexy with a thumping great lump of horsepower

I can't afford that in one lump - hence the lookout for a project, plus the satisfaction of building the car the way that I want it

If I was in your position I would be on the lookout for a Lancia Flaminia or Lancia Flavia . The quality of engineering found on 1960s Lancias is spot on . Not necessarily the prettiest Italian cars of the period but in my humble opinion , the connoisseurs choice .

Fiat Dino coupe all the way.... epicly Italian. Engine is a real gem, the early 2L makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Appreciating as we speak. Achingly cool too.

If you don't mind getting your hands dirty, you can still just about, get a usable Ferrari 400 for under £10k . . . . . the last of the proper V12 Ferrari's

A tired Ferrari 400 or Lambo Espada - but they could both cost a bomb if the motor's knackered. There aren't many manual 400s about either.
