Fuel line - which is which?

Got some new fuel lines, but can't remember which connector is the delivery line and the return line. There are 2 pipes under the coolant box and I forgot to mark them when I removed the pipes - must find a manual somewhere. It's a 4.5 if that makes any difference.

Thanks for the link! Should help me in other situations, but I couldn't find any mention of which line is which in the fuel system pdf.

In terms of the 4.5 setup. I would expect the line from the pump is the on that goes into the V of the block and down to cooler and returns from the cooler to the rail. The return to the tank would be connected would therefore be from the pressure regulator on the back of the rail. It wouldn't make much sense to cool the fuel before returning it to the tank! I don't know how the 4.2 setup differs from this.

The metal feed and return pipes are slightly staggered on mine, the one slightly back and with the pipe still attached goes to the fuel pressure regulator.

Thanks, that was exactly what I needed to know! They are staggered on mine too. Looking at the car straight on, right is fuel pressure regulator and left is to the fuel rail at the front.
