So I get married a week tomorrow, the 11th and am yet to book a car! Yes, the one job I was responsible for is not done!

I'd far rather give the cash/beer/bottle of decent wine or combination of the aforementioned to a PHer, so if you have an interesting vehicle and are free and willing pls let me know.

Alternatively recommendations for wedding car firms in Leicestershire would be equally appreciated.

Thanks
Rich

One week to go and you've managed not to do the only thing you were trusted to sort out. Haha, hope someone comes to your rescue, otherwise you're doomed!

Thanks for the encouraging word chap! A week is enough time isn't it?!

Have you actually had any involvement in organising your wedding? Decent wedding stuff gets booked up years in advance. Our wedding cars were booked 6 months before our wedding - I spent months trying to get a car my wife would love, a Citroen DS. Had to give up in the end and got her an original 1970's Beetle convertible instead.

You'll do well to get anything "interesting" in a week. I hope a Ph'er comes to your rescue, if not Google is your friend www.manns-limousines.co.uk.

An E39 M5 was the wedding car at the last wedding I went to! Job done.

I know what you mean about a good DS being hard to find for a wedding car - fortunately, one of my mates has a beautifully restored example which he kindly allowed us to use for our wedding

Using the wedding car fund to get the M5 detailed and ready for service is definitely the back up/cunning plan.

I'm hoping that given the wedding is a Friday I may get lucky, or a PHer will come to the rescue!

I've done something along those lines. My choice for a wedding car (in July - booked 8 months ago wink ) was a DB5. The cost for the wedding day was the same as a weekend away in the same car, so the missus agreed we could do that instead, and I've booked a mk2 Jag for the day - win/win!

Whereabouts are you, I could do shuttle runs in a very dirty M3 if you like. Real classy like biggrin

That's most kind however the wedding is in Leicester so perhaps too far for you to travel, appreciate the kind offer. :-)

Unfortunately we were getting married in Scotland and most of the interesting cars were in the South East. The cost of getting a DS up north was just rediculous so ended up with the Beetle which my wife loved.

Although I got the real treat - chartered a helicopter to fly me and 3 mates to Turnberry the day before the wedding for a round of golf.

I hired an XF-S from Sturgess as my wedding car, a family friend drove it. We then had it for the next few days just to drive around in. It was brand new too and worked out so much cheaper than chauffeur companies. Give them a call.

JQ,

"Unfortunately we got married in Scotland" - count yourself lucky we let you in !!! Lol

Saying that I now live in Perth, Australia - so I can't complain too much !!

I have been dying to post up some photos of my customised Mk3 VW Scirocco GT TDi that I've just recently brought over here - but I'm too scared of all the negative feedback I would get - as I know some of you don't go easy on Newbies !! Lol TJ

Not a bad shout, I suppose I could ask Jaguar or Porsche in Leicester about hiring something for 24hrs.
