Think I have the models correct.

if you wanted a soft top pork & you decided that new was the way to go, why would you look past the boxster to get the basic 991 cab?

On paper they have very similar performance, the only benifit the 991 has is it small back seats, BUT at nearly half the price you have to say the boxster looks great value.

That is probably why the Boxster is selling like hot cakes, talking to chap from our OPC the other night he said they sold 38 last week and that's despite not having any demonstrators.

If you had £38k to blow on just status then surely you would get a 991S, I just dont see the market for the basic 991 cab

i think its a case of if you can afford it you'd get the 911, if not the boxster is great value in comparision... sadly i can't afford a new 911, so the boxster is very appealing at £40k, but its not £40k its closer £60k with options which buys an awful lot of second hand 997 wink

Even at £50k, there are a lot of other second hand cars that I would consider first but being PH, I wouldn't be able to speak about it as one can only compare new to new, not new to (even recent and warrantied) second hand...

I'm currently a 2.9 PDK Boxster owner and have wanted a 911 for a million years. Well, today I have ordered a 991 Cab. It's quick enough for me. But I don't know whether I've done something incredibly reckless or incredibly exciting. Over the next 2 months I suspect it will veer towards the latter. For the interested I'm going for red (got white now but think it's TOO popular now), PDK, heated seats and telephone module. It'll do for me. Happy days.

Congratulations, sounds like a perfect transmission for the cab. Probably good for resale and all that jizz.
