The Search section is down for maintenance at the moment so hope someone can help me.
I am re-veneering the dashboard and now need to remove the heater panel, preferably without slackening the handbrake. I seem to remember that there is a chance of accessing the fixing screws via the window switch holes. If this is so, how do I remove the window switches from the front of the panel?
Any advice will be appreciated.

The window switches just come out by pulling them out, if redoing wood, then a screw driver, other wise with care!

I have replaced bolts with wing nuts, so can now get out without hand break adjustment, do not require to remove just slacken a long way. You will struggle to get to bolts unless you bend a small spanner, or you are lucky and they are loose enough to get your finger to turn them.

Hi Alex, it's pretty much as gbtvr says. If you have a socket set with a long screw driver and universal joint pieces (or some kind of long reach socket) you should be able to slide it up the side of the centre console to reach the heater panel nuts. The centre console will need to be loose. It is a real pain though.

Hi Graham, I had to loosen the handbrake a bit but managed to get a long socket extension onto the nuts as you suggested. When it goes back it will be with velcro in case it ever has to come out again!

Thanks everyone for your advice, much appreciated.
