Hope it goes well Jimbo did mine last Friday and she went through with no advisories and congrats from the tester who had just failed a BMW on its first MoT for steering and braking!

Hi Crawford..Its something me and some past friends used to do/say..If you do the action pointing at each of the mentioned with your wallet in your top left pocket and the watch in the right..You will see what i mean..Cheers..Ziga

Don't fail on something stupid - check the lights including the number plate lights and the rear fog light warning on the switch.

Make sure the wipers/washers work. Check the tyres aren't bald.

Check you can open both doors from the inside - even though it's a soft top it's in the regulations!

If you have an LSD you can ask the MOT man to use the indicator method rather than the rollers for the rear brake check.

Yeah the rollers can stress an LSD if they run at different speeds.

So the MOT man has an indicator they put on the floor (passenger footwell usually), then they drive the car (not too fast) and jam on the brakes in the car park. The indicator shows the brake efficiency.

Pass and no advisories. Happy days.

Didn't stick it on the rollers for the rear brake test after having a word.
