Hi guys, so... i can see the bloody thing but have absolutely no idea how its held in or how to get it out. I've had my head right in the footwell but just really struggling. Would love some help. If anyone wants to give me a buzz that'd be awesome !!

I've replied to your other post.
..........but in short, get the battery and associated ste out of the way and get your head right in there. You will see the panel and screws/rivets around the perimeter. Remove all of these and the additional ones you can't see;) , then pull the complete panel out and the fan is affixed to this.

You'd better keep a swearbox nearby smile

Tried to ring you...

...the bible simply calls it a 'swine' of a job.

Nuff said and good luck!

Its not as bad as they are making out. The difficulty is getting another motor. The earler ones are a Vauxhall motor form either Astra Mk 2, Nova or cavalier Mk2. Not made anymore. I tried a couple from breakers, but the resisters were faulty. Its the resisters that give you the different speeds. Anyway after phoning around. David Gerald do a motor that will do. Its slightly smaller. But I just glued it in place with Sikaflex. I also seem to remember having to change some of the wires around to get the speeeds in the correct sequence. works well though.

If you're having to work head-down in the footwell its worth taking the passenger seat out.
Its only 4 nuts to spin off and a 10 min job but it makes your life so much easier.

Couldn't agree more. Thats what I did, much more comfertable. you dont even have to jack the car up to take out the seat.
