Interested to know if anyone else has a problem with a loss of power when driving in 3rd gear at a steady 2200 rpm and then giving it full gas. It only happens when in 3rd and only when at a constant 2200 rpm. I have a 997.2 3.8 manual with powerkit. I have also noticed it in a Carrera 4 GTS PDK and in a Cayman R manual I've borrowed. The easy fix is to drop down to 2nd before stepping on the happy pedal (always fun) but if you're driving gently through a village in third or holding third on wet days to improve traction it is bothering. Have reported it to OPC who have escalated to the factory. Am keen to hear if anyone else has noticed this. Sounds like a characteristic of the engine mapping and keen to encourage Porsche to do an official upgrade.

Thanks for the link to that video. So he suggests it's a way of getting around the noise tests which are at 50 kmh and full throttle. Interesting. I wonder how he disabled it.
