Hi all,
My alternator light has been flashing on and off for a while and cant put it off any longer it needs replacing. Now is it the same alternator that is listed for the st24 mondeo/ford cougar etc (mine is a 2.5 noble).
I remember a couple of years back paying nearly £200 notes for a bosch one but ones on e bay listed for a mk1 v6 mondeo with a 130A output are under half that. Will this be the right direct replacement if i buy one.All help appreciated.
Cheers Chris

Hi Chris I had this happen on the dyno turned out to be the single wire with the push on spade end was a bit loose !!! Have you checked to see if you get a drop in voltage when the light flashes ?
I get most of my bits including the alternator from Andrew Page ltd in Peterborough 01733 340177

Not really sorry. But my problem lied with the plug that plugs into the alternator. Has 3 wires going to it. Pull that off. Take off all the heat wrap and sleeving. So you can see the wires. One off them is black. You have to cut it 6 to 7 inches down. And that bit of 6 to 7 inch bit of wire that goes to the plug. Put a connection on and join to the main feed terminal on the alternator. Which is a 12mm nut I think. Then the other end of the wire just blank off. And it's not used no more
