Funky mate, here's a couple of pic's of my new baby. Only had her since Feb.
In relation to your question mate, she wont be staying standard but i need some spare cash first lol. My play money that was intended for Tuning was burnt on Boiler troubles and holiday : ( I'll be aiming for around Stage 4, so Full exhaust, Intakes, re-map, Injectors. That should be around the 620 mark and reduce 0-60 to around 2.8 ish. Although to be honest she's no slouch now lol.
I've put a de-cat pipe on for some extra noise at the mo. Sounds much better!!! I was worried she would feel like she drives her self when pushed but to be honest nothing could be further from the truth. She's an absolute blast in R mode and giving it the beans down the lanes. You get a lot of slip and it's really rear biased. Kind of reminds me of hooning around in my old Noble at times.
Anyway mate here's a couple of pics

We must meet up pal. I love to run with a Noble again ; )

That looks lovely mate. I do like them. Looks good with the black wheels. Be good to catch up mate. Have to mail over your number again. Lost it when changing to these iPhones. Bloody thing. And I'll keep you posted when and where we're going. I'll let you have a blast if we go bruntingthorpe.
Cheers Snuffy. She certainly feels the Noble shaped empty space I had in my heart ; )
Funky, sounds good mate. Would love to go to Brunters and catch up with Matt and Dave. I'll send my number in a sec. Would be great to have a run in the summer. Are you still cruising down Southend in your Nob lol?

Jimbo... Glad to see you are enjoying her! Definitely would be good to see you so pop over whenever. We will be sorting a Noble meet at some point soon at my humble abode but of course your Datsun is welcome :-) and you need to see our new shed.Funky, sounds good mate. Stiggy, mate thanks for the invite ; ) I'd love to stretch her legs in your back garden lol. I was invited to VMAX the other day but couldn't make it : (Matt
It would be great to catch up properly. I've done that typical male thing of not staying in regular contact, lol. Although hanging around on here now and then I've seen your still doing well pal ; ) Going away soon but once I'm back I will defo give you a shout. I take it your Tel's the same?
Mate, say Hi hi to Dave and your brother.

didn't you get a porker after the noble ?
how did that pan out ?
Hi Gadge. Yeah mate I got a 996 Turbo which I ran for 3 years. Time flies don't it lol. how did that pan out ?
She wasn't as dramatic as the Noble but she was still a great laugh when pushed, which i did a lot lol. I do a lot of runs with pals around KENT, SUSSEX etc, normally 0500 starts when the roads are empty. Well the Porker never let me down once. It was a fantastic car and had the lust for a GTR not been so strong I would have kept her. Would love to have done a bit of tuning but every one adds the Porker Tax so i didn't bother. The Datsun on the other hand is pretty sensible to get some serious extra go ; )
I still rave to every one about the Noble though ; ) and have a nice big pic of her sliding (Yes for those of you that were there I'll re phrase that to spinning lol) at Brunters when I arranged one of the first meets there. I'm sure the pic was curtesy of Mr Jenkins ; )
I'd highly recommend the Turbo to any one though. She was one of the cheapest performance cars with regards to maintenance I have ever owned!! Perhaps I was just lucky. I do look after my motors but i also drive them hard when ever possible so she didn't have an easy life.
Anyway mate hope you are well and still enjoying Nobility ; )

Still got my Noble and thinking the GTR floats my boat too
600 hp is so easy on them
however do not really want to sell the Noble - so would like to have a GTR too

I did 350 miles yesterday and a lot of it was hooning in poor weather. The GTR was a LOT of fun ; ) Can't wait for July when I finally manage to get her re-mapped.
I see a couple of Nobles at Goodwood yesterday and was hoping to bump into a few of you. Ramon, so we didn't catch up mate as I only see you as we were leaving GUILDFORD in convoy. Your beast was still looking good ; )

what year is your GTR
i know a company who can modify the gearbox so it will not spit the gears off the shaft when you turn up the power
what year is the best GTR to get for options etc - did the early ones have gearbox issues ?
It's a '59 plate. No gearbox issues in the UK. If you speak to the experts like Litchfield, they will tell you that they have never seen a damaged box in the UK. Apparently they should be good for up to 650 bhp. However, there was a lot of scare from over in the States where they ran the first LC known as LC1. It was very aggressive and launch junkies over there did have issues.i know a company who can modify the gearbox so it will not spit the gears off the shaft when you turn up the power

If you search the Internet you will see people saying things like, it costs 10k to change the box. But in reality a fault could be a simple solenoid etc. with no need to change the whole box. Nissan did that at the start for research purposes. Some people that like to track their GTR's or drag them uprate the CirClips as the originals are tiny. You can also change to a near 1st gear. I believe Dodson provide the parts. BUT again when I enquired about getting a Stage 4 conversion (So about 620bhp) I was told by an expert that the box would be fine and they have not had any issues at all. Unless of course I was planning to become a drag junkie lol.
Mine's going to be re-mapped at the next service and I'm having the new 2012 gearbox software put on (Smooths out the low speed manners from 2nd to 1st). I'm not chasing numbers and just plan to do 1 Stage at a time each service. She's a keeper for me so doing something each year will keep it fresh. 1st time I've ever been sooooo smitten if i'm honest and have never said I'm keeping a particular car for good. I know it's early days but I've even stopped looking in the classifieds when I have free time lol. Love it!!!!

This came up a few weeks ago, mate of mine has had the gearbox upgrade and stage one remap on his 59 plate. The way it takes off and changes gear now is staggering. I'm with Gadge on having both, with a nice V8 Atom for days I need the sIf you search the Internet you will see people saying things like, it costs 10k to change the box.
